Training Individualization in Team Sport

Optimo Sport Science Week

Due to the heavy physical demands during the extremely busy competition calendar in high-performance sports, it’s exceedingly important to program training, quantify and control players’ load. Outstanding specialists in this topic are going to present their best approaches, useful technology and applied science during the first debate about the future ways of optimizing gold-standard outcomes.

Strength in Sport Training

Optimo Sport Science Week

Unavoidable tool for improving tissue load capacity and ability to overcome resistance is strength training, which is going to be the topic of the second round table of the congress. Experts in strength will discuss the need of general and the supplementary gym-based exercises aimed at improving performance of the athletes with respect to movement specificity and unique demands of every sport. Mind-opening discussion about seemingly the most traditional methods of S&C will include issues of stimuli adjustment, optimal adaptation, training periodization , exercise vs rest time periods, variability of practice and more and more recognized in the field — entropy.

Injury Determining Factors

Optimo Sport Science Week

Number of sport-related injuries is a big issue and a widespread problem that may cause considerable shortages of players in high-performance organizations. Finding proven ways to overcome that problem is one the holy grails of future sports science in the matter of injury avoidance. Third discussion will share insights into preventative protocols design held by top coaching authorities, which will shape better understanding of the determinants of injury we should pay attention and control.

Return to Play

Optimo Sport Science Week

Injury is a player’s and teams nightmare which can withdraw an athlete from the love of play for extended months and in heavy cases even forever. However, if we deal with sports rehabilitation, we need to rely on cooperation between clinicians and coaches on the bumpy road towards sports training (re)integration, preinjury performance and return to competition. The last session will examine the existing and up-to-date rehab protocols used by the heads of team’s medical staff who play the irreplaceable role of creating multifaceted frameworks of motor control exercise, strength-power development, performance monitoring, skill introduction and gradual match exposition.
